One way to Tokyo for the whole aircraft: about $15k to $20k from Seoul, $27k to $42k from Hong Kong, $63k to $112k from Singapore, $82k to $146k from Mumbai, $131k to $232k from Dubai, $173k to $308k from London and $196k to $348k from New York.
These are the indicative ranges our estimator gives for the aircraft that suits each distance, not quotations. The final figure depends mostly on where the aircraft starts and whether it waits in Japan for your return.
One way, whole aircraft, not per seat. Tokyo is priced into Haneda; Sapporo into New Chitose, the airport for Niseko. Time in the air is the non-stop flying time.
| From | Distance to Tokyo | Aircraft | In the air | To Tokyo | To Sapporo |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seoul | 1,210 km | Midsize jet | 1h 25m | $15k to $20k | $17k to $22k |
| Shanghai | 1,738 km | Midsize jet | 2h 03m | $19k to $26k | $23k to $31k |
| Hong Kong | 2,903 km | Midsize jet | 3h 25m | $27k to $42k | $31k to $48k |
| Bangkok | 4,590 km | Heavy jet | 4h 59m | $60k to $94k | $61k to $108k |
| Singapore | 5,300 km | Heavy jet | 5h 46m | $63k to $112k | $70k to $125k |
| Delhi | 5,862 km | Heavy jet | 6h 22m | $72k to $128k | $73k to $129k |
| Mumbai | 6,734 km | Heavy jet | 7h 19m | $82k to $146k | $84k to $149k |
| Sydney | 7,818 km | Ultra-long range | 7h 59m | $129k to $229k | $156k to $278k |
| Dubai | 7,935 km | Ultra-long range | 8h 06m | $131k to $232k | $129k to $230k |
| Doha | 8,255 km | Ultra-long range | 8h 25m | $151k to $268k | $149k to $264k |
| Los Angeles | 8,789 km | Ultra-long range | 8h 58m | $160k to $284k | $150k to $266k |
| London | 9,550 km | Ultra-long range | 9h 45m | $173k to $308k | $161k to $287k |
| New York | 10,844 km | Ultra-long range | 11h 04m | $196k to $348k | $182k to $323k |
Beyond about 7,400 km the only aircraft that make the trip non-stop are ultra-long range jets, which is why Dubai, the Gulf, Europe and the United States sit in a different price band from South and South-East Asia.
New Chitose (CTS) is the airport for Sapporo and for Niseko, about two hours from the ski area by road. One way for the whole aircraft into New Chitose: about $31k to $48k from Hong Kong, $70k to $125k from Singapore, $156k to $278k from Sydney, $161k to $287k from London and $182k to $323k from New York. Flying straight into New Chitose from abroad avoids the domestic leg described below.
A charter flight into Japan on a foreign-registered aircraft needs landing permission from Japan's Civil Aviation Bureau, and the operator applies for it before the flight. Build in lead time: a week is comfortable, and a short-notice trip depends on the permit and the slot coming through together.
A foreign-registered charter aircraft cannot sell a flight between two airports inside Japan. Tokyo to Sapporo within the same trip therefore needs a Japanese-registered aircraft or a scheduled flight, and we plan that leg separately. The rule is cabotage; how it works country by country.
Niseko's ski season, roughly December to March, and cherry blossom in late March and early April are the peak weeks for private arrivals. Book slots and aircraft early for those dates.
For the whole aircraft, one way to Tokyo: about $27k to $42k from Hong Kong, $63k to $112k from Singapore, $82k to $146k from Mumbai, $131k to $232k from Dubai, $173k to $308k from London and $196k to $348k from New York. These are indicative estimates, not quotations.
About $173k to $308k one way to Tokyo for the whole aircraft, in an ultra-long range jet, with about 9h 45m in the air non-stop. Into Sapporo it is about $161k to $287k. The figure is priced from London Luton; another airport in England changes it by a few percent.
About $196k to $348k one way for the whole aircraft, in an ultra-long range jet, with about 11h 04m in the air non-stop from Teterboro.
One way into New Chitose for the whole aircraft: about $31k to $48k from Hong Kong, $70k to $125k from Singapore, $161k to $287k from London and $182k to $323k from New York.
Haneda, closest to the city, when a business-aviation slot is available, and Narita, about an hour out by road, when it is not.
A week is comfortable. The operator needs landing permission from Japan's Civil Aviation Bureau and, for Haneda, a slot. Shorter notice is possible when both come through in time.
Not if it is foreign-registered. Cabotage rules stop a foreign charter aircraft selling a flight between two Japanese airports, so the domestic leg goes on a Japanese-registered aircraft or a scheduled flight. Flying straight into New Chitose from abroad avoids the issue.
No, it is for the whole aircraft. Mumbai to Tokyo at about $82,172 to $146,084 carrying ten people is roughly $8,200 to $14,600 each.
Send the departure city, the dates and the number of passengers. We check aircraft, the slot and the permit, and come back with named options and a price.
